Route for schoolchildren

ROUTE FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN
This route is age-adjusted. It includes the shellfishing and port tour, so the children can know the whole shellfishing process.
The route can be carried out in the mornings or be distributed in two phases: the shellfishing process in the morning and the port in the afternoon.

The itinerary would be the following:
-Shellfishing with descent to the beach (we provide the boots).
-Visit to the checkpoint where the shellfish is selected for its sale in the market.
- Visit to the seafaring quarter of San Tomé with an explanation of the popular seaside architecture.
- Visit and explanation of how the bid works in the market
- Visit to the port with an explanation of the different types of vessels, arts of fishing used by the fishermen and species captured.
- Visit to the fishing net makers’ warehouse, where an explanation of what their job involves will be given.
The duration of the route is of approximately two hours and a half. After finishing the visit, the teachers will be provided with a didactic unit and a shellfishing guide so that they complete the activity in class.
